Description

Model OM-VLT is a programmable temperature data logger, strip recorder and alarm device with integral digital display. The easy to follow menu driven programming is done via the front panel keys. The unit records, saves and prints up to 290 temperature readings at predefined intervals. The OM-VLT produces an alarm when the temperature goes out of the defined range or after the temperature remains out of range for a certain period of time. The OM-VLT prints temperature data directly via the integral printer and can also send temperature data to an external PC. Communications with a PC is done by using Windows Hyperterminal software so no additional software is required. The OM-VLT can also send alarms to an external device via the built-in relay contact.

Specifications
Temperature Sensor: Solid state IC, 10 m (33') long sensor probe wire, 0.2" diameter
Temperature Measurement Range: -40 to 130°C (-40 to 266 °F)
Temperature Measurement Accuracy: ±1°C (±1.8°F)
Temperature Writing and Storage Resolution: 0.1°C (0.2 °F)
Sample Rate: Programmable between 1 and 90 minutes in 1 minute intervals
Memory: Data logger saves the last 290 measurements; logging starts as soon as the unit is turned on
Computer Interface: RS-232: 9600 baud, 8 data bits, parity none, 1 stop bit, flow control none
LEDs: Power, low battery, out of paper, sensor, min, max
Alarms: High and low temperature, end of paper, no sensor; audible (internal buzzer)/visual (alarm LED)/normally open relay contact
Audible Alarm (Internal Buzzer): Some alarms trigger the internal alarm buzzer. The buzzer can be silenced by pressing EXIT on the front of the data logger or by connecting the optional remote buzzer silencer switch (OM-VLTSK) which momentarily shorts the buzzer silencer contacts on the data logger. The alarm buzzer can also be enabled or disabled via the data logger front panel menu programming. Temperature Alarm Operation: If the measured temperature goes outside the maximum or minimum temperature limits for an amount of time equal to the defined alarm delay period (if any), an alarm is sent – the internal buzzer sounds (if enabled), an alarm is sent to an external device via the alarm relay contact (if enabled) and the alarm LED lights.
Disconnected Temperature Sensor Alarm Operation: If the temperature sensor is disconnected the display shows the message nOS, the alarm LED lights and the internal buzzer sounds (if enabled).
End of Paper Alarm Operation: If the printer paper runs out, the internal buzzer sounds
(if enabled), an alarm is sent to an external device via the alarm relay contact (if enabled)
and the out of paper LED lights.
Alarm Relay: 1 A, 12 Vac/Vdc
Alarm Delay Range: User selectable; No delay, 10 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hrs
Printing Modes: There are three printing modes; full text report (small font), time and temperature (large font), graph format
Chart Speed Accuracy: ±1%
Time Accuracy: ±80 ppm @ 75 °F (24°C)
Thermal Chart Paper Dimensions: 2" wide x 131' long
Display: 4 character numeric LED
Power: 12 Vac/Vdc via included 115 Vac 50/60 Hz adaptor
Battery Backup: 9 V alkaline for up to 60 hours operation
Clock Battery: CR2032 coin cell, used for saving logged data and configuration settings and for running the real-time clock
Operating Environment: -18 to 65°C (0 to 150 °F), 0 to 95 % RH non-condensing
Storage Temperature: -40 to 65°C (-40 to 150 °F)
Mounting: Vertical or horizontal, free standing, wall or panel mount (wall mount bracket included)
Dimensions: 209 W x 135 H x 69 mm D (8.2 x 5.3 x 2.7")
